About
The IMPACT Study – Ahead of the Curve explores how Ontario’s Campus-Linked Accelerators (CLAs) and On-Campus Entrepreneurship Activities (OCEAs) have transformed the province’s academic landscape into a dynamic hub for youth entrepreneurship. Conducted by UBI Global in collaboration with Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE), the study assesses the impact of 59 accelerators and incubators across 42 academic institutions, revealing how they foster innovation, create jobs, and build stronger communities.
Evidence-based results. Real economic value.
With over 2,200 start-ups supported, 8,000 jobs created, and $85 million added to Ontario’s GDP in just two years, the study highlights the measurable results of government-backed entrepreneurship initiatives. It also captures the broader ripple effects — from enhanced regional ecosystems to record-high engagement of students, alumni, and young founders who are shaping Canada’s next generation of innovators.
Inspiring a global model for academic innovation.
Recognized internationally as a leading example of campus entrepreneurship, Ontario’s CLA and OCEA programs showcase how public investment and academic collaboration can catalyze sustainable, innovation-driven growth. The Ahead of the Curve study not only celebrates their success but also provides a roadmap for policymakers and educators worldwide aiming to strengthen the bridge between academia and entrepreneurship. 🌍✨
